Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (209) 549-8876. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, veronacucina.net.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 470 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Modesto is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Modesto is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. This was my first time eating here. Went with a pretty large group, about eight of us. The service was good. The menu had a lot of choices. I went with a pizza. I wish it would have had just a little bit more sauce. it was a bit dry for my liking, but overall not bad.

Chicken marsala and spaghetti bolognese were delicious! Bread basket is purchased separately.

I have been to this restaurant before but it's been a long time since I've been back. The food is always really good. The service with our waitress was okay. She was a little bit dry and not very friendly when I asked for something in the menu it was like yes Etc not into details. She opened up a little bit more at the end. It's a very pretty restaurant the outside seating is pretty too so is the inside of the restaurant. The desserts are to die for. We came to have lunch. The only thing appetizer there were only three choices for appetizers. They should have more choices for appetizers.

Their food is light and tasty, as Italian food can be heavy. There are small things they could do better like caprese salad, tomatoes should be heirloom especially in the summer and given we are in an agricultural area. Also charging 3$ for bread seems kinda pathetic, I rather they charge more for food and give the bread β€œfree”. Their bread is very good so I wonder if people have abused their free service in the past to make it more now come at a fee. Their pasta dishes are good overall but not the best ever. It’s a safe option to go with large groups as they have a lot of options for everyone. They have the potential to be top notch if they used seasonal ingredients and added more unique touches to their food

First time back in three years and very happy with everything! Loved the filet mignon. It was juicy, tender, no fat, and had a delicious topping! The bruschetta is a must. Bread is toasted perfectly not too hard with lots of flavor. The presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful with a good flavor to match! Everything we ordered was well made, delicious, and fresh. We came before closing and there weren't many people. Their service was fast and friendly! The environment was very pleasant, we really enjoyed the experience. Would recommend stopping by!
